The Skokie Valley Bikeway is a 7 mile paved path which follows a Com Ed right-of-way between Lake Forest and Highland Park. If you like
a lack of scenery and power lines then this is the trail for you. Note that at the northern end of the trail in Lake Forest you can take
side streets a little over a mile heading east to get to the Robert McClory Bike Path. A one mile plus extension of this trail connecting it directly to the North Short Bike Path (at Route 176) is supposed to open at the end of August 2009. |
